The WHO Foundation - Women Helping Others
The WHO (Women Helping Others) Foundation was established in 1983 and is committed to encouraging women everywhere to help others through community service and by supporting organizations dedicated to the needs of women, children and families in crisis.
The WHO Foundation supports community-focused charities serving the overlooked and under-served needs of women and children, and is committed to:
- Encouraging women everywhere to help others through local community service.
- Supporting organizations dedicated to the needs of women, children and families in need.
- Supporting organizations dedicated to education and literacy.
Since its inception, the WHO Foundation has granted more than $3.5 million to other non-profit organizations supporting such issues as teen pregnancy, rape, education, homelessness, drug and alcohol abuse, and domestic violence.
The Beauty of Giving Back
WHO is built on the incredible generosity of the BeautiControl Independent Consultants who selflessly volunteer their time to lead fund-raising efforts that benefit both local groups and the national WHO Foundation.
Every year, the WHO Foundation Awards recognize BeautiControl Consultants who have demonstrated outstanding volunteerism in their communities. Winners of the WHO Foundation Community Service Awards each receive a check from the foundation made payable to the charity for which they volunteer. The foundation also selects several national grant recipients each year.
“The WHO Foundation is a wonderful organization that touches many lives and is supported by amazing individuals,” says Cindy Turek, the foundation’s Executive Director. “We make a real difference in both local communities and in individual lives. However, without the generosity of BeautiControl’s Independent Consultants, Managers and Directors, none of what we do could be accomplished. Only by working together can we make a difference and bring hope.”
