Betty Hughes learned the value of hard work and a good attitude at an early age. Born in rural Mississippi, she learned from her devoted grandmother that you can do anything if you are willing to work.

Betty was first introduced to BeautiControl while working as a bank teller. She went to a BeautiControl party but did not purchase anything because of her finances. While she was there, the Consultant shared the BeautiControl opportunity with her. Betty was interested but couldn’t see herself talking in front of people because she felt she was too shy. Then, she thought about the extra income.

It was the dream of providing better for her children that helped Betty push outside her comfort zone. With just $50 a week extra she could provide more for her children. Betty borrowed $523 to join BeautiControl. She remembers how frightening it was, because she had never borrowed money before.

No one showed up to her first two parties, but the third party was very successful. She sold $70 worth of products and got two bookings. A month later she repaid her loan; quit her job and went full time with BeautiControl – holding five to ten parties a week. In the first couple of months, she booked parties and sold products to all of her friends and relatives. Then the parties and the bookings dried up and she had nowhere to go. She was out of bookings and out of business.

Betty’s director encouraged her to attend BeautiControl’s largest conference, Celebration. The thrill of flying in an airplane and seeing the big city was a first for her and at that time she thought it might be the last. That just goes to show you never know what the future holds.

It was there Betty’s eyes were opened to all the possibilities of BeautiControl. Seeing all of the ladies on stage earning diamonds, cars and trips made her realize, “I can do that too,” she says. Her name was called in recognition for being there, and she received a red rose on stage. “That single red rose gave me confidence in myself and the BeautiControl opportunity.” She went back home a different Betty Hughes and to this day, still treasures the red rose.

As a single mom Betty was going to make it happen. She started each day with a list of goals, knew where she was going and what she wanted to accomplish. It did not happen overnight, and there were many setbacks and disappointments. “That is part of life and that’s the part that helps you grow to become the person you can be,” she says.

“My on going goal is to share BeautiControl with everyone I possibly can so that new doors can be opened and lives can be changed. I strive to help each person be all they can be and realize the limitless opportunities available to them.”

Today Betty is a Senior National Executive Director and a quadruple multi-millionaire achiever. She has driven a BeautiControl car for over 33 years. Because of her success with BeautiControl, she has traveled the world, built her dream home and enjoys a home away from home on the beach. She loves spending time with her children and family and has fun in her business while living her dream life.
